It is an accepted fact that the foetus responds to stimuli from outside the uterus – be it emotions of the mother or voices and sounds in the mother’s environment. Development of the child starts in the womb and its mental and emotional state can be improved from as early as the 3rd month of conception. Parents are taught how to reach out to the growing foetus with positive affirmations and love. Mothers are especially guided in techniques of meditation and relaxation to avoid emotional turbulence that will have negative effects on the growing child. Fathers are also included in this therapy.
This is an effort to make the parents understand the responsibility and importance of the gestation period and make them participate in the whole process of pregnancy and child birth. The effect of foetal therapy is evident in the child soon after birth – mainly seen as calmness, alertness and responsiveness.
